EXPERIENCESOver a century of amazing Japanese art awaits you at the MOMAT right beside the Imperial Palace.
Overview
The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo (MOMAT) is Japan’s first national art museum.
The museum is home to one of Japan’s largest art collections, comprising a total of over13,000 items. The MOMAT Collection presents in each exhibition period 200 pieces selected from our collection. It is the only exhibition in Japan giving you an insight into Japanese art over more than a century at a single stroke.
Near the MOMAT are the Imperial Palace, Kitanomaru Park and Chidorigafuchi moat where visitors can enjoy Japanese culture and rich natural surroundings. A stroll around the area and a visit to the MOMAT would be an exciting combination.
